Suggested Books for Year 4

Reading, reading and more reading!  Below are some books that are sure to catch yours and your child's attention.  Use the libraries so you can borrow them for free (no fines for late returns either).  Children still rely on you reading with them e.g. taking it in turns to read a page or paragraph.  This way they can tackle harder books with your help and support to pronounce unknown words. 

You will need to check their understanding of words as you go along and will need to ask questions to check their understanding e.g. Why did the boy do that?  What does fragile mean?  Can you think of another word for angry?
